no apologies

How many times have you heard a speech or sermon started with an apology?

"I know it's early, but..."

Among many of Seth Godin's great insights on communication is this concept: Don't do anything you need to apologize for. Or to put it another way: If your speech needs to be prefaced by an apology... don't give it.

I wonder how much more effective many of our sermons / lessons / Bible studies / times of corporate worship would be if all of us as communicators started with this mindset. For Seth's complete post on this topic, go here.
